Darende is a district in Malatya Province, Turkey, situated in the valley of the Tohma River. Surrounded by Sivas to the north, Malatya center to the south, and Kangal to the east, the district feels like an open-air museum preserving the ancient fabric of Anatolia.

How to Get There
You can fly to Malatya Airport and travel by road for approximately 1.5 hours to reach Darende. Regular minibus and bus services from Malatya city center are also available, as well as road connections via Kayseri and Sivas.
Best Time to Visit
Spring (April–May) and autumn (September–October) are when Tohma Canyon looks its most enchanting. Summer brings local festivals and vibrancy; in winter, the snow-covered valley presents a completely different kind of beauty.
